Does Tourism Always Give Benefits?

There are so many trip destinations in Indonesia. Some of them are very famous that they attract international tourists to visit. But do you know, beside the positive impact, there are negative impacts from these wonderful places?

Let's start from the positive impacts, shall we?

1. Economically, tourism pretty much contributes to foreign exchange as known as devisa. According to the Ministry of Tourism data, in the year 2015, foreign exchange income from tourism itself reached the number of IDR 169 trillion. Plus, most of the trip destinations in Indonesia has improved their facility, service, etc. It will attract more tourists to visit. Also, it attracts local or international investors to invest in tourism in Indonesia.
2. Beside the economic sector, tourism also helps in the sector of social life. The more tourists visit the place, the more workers needed. Tourism helps this country decreasing the number of unemployed people. Besides, there are many tourism schools in Indonesia that produces talented and integrated workers which makes us getting foremost in the sector of tourism and hospitality.
3. Usually the institution or company that manages a trip destination keeps the place maintained. That is why sometimes they spend a lot of money to keep it clean.

There are also the negative effects of tourism, what are they?

1. Competitive tourism requires technology. That is why it increases the import of modern technology tools from abroad to give the best service for their visitors, sometimes in a large amount of it.
2. I don't think there are any significant negative effects in social life. If you know any, feel free to comment down below.
3. We all know most of Indonesians still do littering anywhere. I think this is the most common problem in all trip destinations. It's bad for our environment, we better put the litter inside our bag until we find a trash bin. We can also bring our own food and drinks so that we don't need to throw the container away.
